As a content marketer, I thrive on creating both textual and visual content for clients. However, personally, I find greater satisfaction in projects that involve visual elements. With the emergence of AI art, I’ve been very eager to explore various AI art tools and acquaint myself with effective prompts to generate useful images for different purposes.

While exploring AI art, I’ve found that specifying the desired art style in your prompt is very crucial. Art styles are distinctive techniques employed by different artists, and AI proves to be a versatile tool capable of adapting to a wide range of preferences and styles.

Here are some familiar AI art styles you might recognise: traditional styles like Cubism, Impressionism, Realism, and abstract styles including Mosaic, Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism, and Pointillism. For your convenience, I’ve created an infographic showcasing the most popular art styles in the world, available for high-resolution download below. All images are created using ArtSpace.ai unless otherwise specified.

How can you use these art styles to make better images? Here’s a quick method I always use, and it works well:

  1. Use my infographic above to choose an art style that aligns with your image vision.
  2. Use Google or ChatGPT to look for additional keywords associated with your chosen art style.
  3. Include about 4 keywords in the prompt, along with some details about your image. I’ve learned that using too many keywords — more than 4 — can make the results confusing.

This approach works for almost all the AI art generators that I have tried. While some AI art generators offer default styles, I’ve found that specifying keywords related to the art style and image enhances the quality of the generated content. Experiment with different approaches to find what works best for your creative process.

Note: If for any reason you cannot download this infographic or it’s too small, you can reach out to me at bei@beithoven.com and I’ll send it over (a good resolution, printable A4 copy for your reference).

A much higher resolution copy without the background watermark for up to A1 size print is available here too for a token sum.

P.S. To gain a better understanding of how I produce these amazing projects, here’s a fuller review of ArtSpace.ai.
